Desert mistletoes

The common desert mistletoe (Phoradendron californicum, Viscaceae) has inconspicuous flowers. Its host plants include a number of woody shrubs and trees, mostly legumes. Psittacanthus sonorae (Loranthaceae) infests mostly Bursera species. Its showy flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds.
