Peniocereus marianus (reina de la noche)

The flowers of Peniocereus marianus are about half the size of those of its northern relative P. greggii, and bloom in March instead of May-July.

Grows in foothills thornscrub in Sonora and Sinaloa.

Like P. greggii, this species is probably not rare, but simply very difficult to see.
