Description
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Press has published its first-ever poetry broadside in honor of the Museum naming its its first-ever Poet-in-Residence, Eric Magrane. The poem celebrates the welcome and nourishing monsoons of our desert home and our connection to the natural world around us. Each broadside is signed by the author and comes in a brown paper sleeve. All proceeds from the sale of this commemorative piece support the programs of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
About the Poet
Eric Magrane is a cultural geographer and a poet. He has been an Artist in Residence in three U.S. National Parks and is the first Poet in Residence at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. He is the founding editor of Spiral Orb, an experiment in permaculture poetics. He created and curated the Poetic Inventory of Saguaro National Park, which gathered eighty poets and writers to contribute pieces addressing species that live in Saguaro in conjunction with the 2011 BioBlitz. Current projects include co-editing, with Christopher Cokinos, A Literary Field Guide of the Sonoran Desert for the University of Arizona Press, as well as leading a plan for poetry installations at the Desert Museum as Poet in Residence.
